Internships: School – World of Work
The internships enable students to encounter the world of work. They serve as orientation measures for later study and/or career choices and also enable the consolidation and practical implementation of theoretically acquired knowledge.
In order to gain an insight into the specific world of work, internships are organised. Various forms are possible: the two-week internship, the internship on the basis of a contingent of hours, the two-week work placement abroad.
The internship is not an employment relationship. The students are insured as such by the school/state administration for the entire duration of the internship. Students or their parents must pay for any expenses/travel expenses, food and accommodation themselves.
The company internships are intended for students of the 3rd and 4th grades FOWI.
Students have the possibility to choose between a two-week internship on site or in the Italian or English-speaking area (England, Ireland, Italy).

“I really enjoyed the two weeks at the Sea Life Centre. It was interesting for me to see and experience the work in a sanctuary and aquarium centre. Together with my class mate Simon Trafoier I regularly had to measure the temperature and salinity of the 20 water tanks, prepare the food, clean all the equipment, feed the sharks and rays and remove egg cases when necessary. We also had to remove algae from the tanks and measure the ammonia, ammonium, nitrite and salinity levels.”
